Visions dance atop towers of bright ivory,
Feeding the petulant disease of equity.
Embracing inheritance despite the negligence,
gorging on the opulence that we’ve festered.
Yet the counseled flame fades underneath us,
The lumination that guides us despite our ways.
Hallucinations flicker, dimming golden.
Fueling the tinge of confusion as I face the truth.
No solace found in my mind.
What is this blight that holds me back from my intentions?
This apathy exudes the center of demise.
I peer into the flame and recognize my wavering mind.
Is this fate, preordained beyond contention?
Will I stay mired, searching in this apprehension?
I bask in cowardice as the seasons change
I clung to fear, hoping things would stay the same
Once again, I’m ashamed of every step taken
I drown in the torrent of recognition.
Can I disengage from this weak preemptive state?
I seem to watch and wait, the kindled flame dissipates.
Visions dance atop towers of bright ivory,
Feeding the petulant disease of equity.
Impurity in its most fragile meaning,
cradled in the opulence that has festered.
Perceive decay and rust in ivory
As all things fade, thoughts remain
What does this speak of me as I drift between?
Constantly questioning my own inaction
Will I remain stagnant?
I am forging dread by my weak mindset,
Breathing in the decay as I’m fractured by my intentions.
Can I disengage from this weak preemptive state?
Soaking in the opulence I've festered.
I seem to watch and wait, the kindled flame dissipates
Is this fate just preordained beyond contention?
Is this all just beyond contention?
I’m stagnant, trapped in reigning silence
I waste away as everything withers and fades into dimming embers.
Is this all just beyond contention?
Dread wraps around a shifted center
I waste away as everything withers and fades into dimming embers.
Dreams Into faded embers, is this preordained x2

Pity that I could not find the deluxe edition with LoG's Laid to Rest. Nevertheless I wanted to add Elegy to my BC collection. It's unique as it is a delightful mix of symphony and deathcore. The vocals are just the perfect "5th element" that allows both styles to intertwine perfectly. Ben Duerr is the perfect vocalist for this role. The Elegy trilogy at the end is just the apotheose of death-gasm, it's a good trip down to memory lane as I've seen S.O.I. live last year! sachavonkarl74
Since Spenser Moore replaced Blackburn I’ve frankly appreciated Inferi far more. I feel that his drumming improves the overall sound of the band a great deal, but it’s probably just a personal style preference. Either way, Of Sunless Realms was a great foreshadowing of the epic Vile Genesis. Metallurgical Fire
Chicago deathcore outfit Into the Silo torch everything in sight on this searing new LP with riffs that will leave bruises. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 21, 2022
These California up-and-comers don't merely pay tribute to ’90s death metal; they make it their own by taking charge and letting it rip. Bandcamp New & Notable Jan 21, 2024
Before Ashen, I thought they were overrated. Deathcore bands seem to have a capacity to evolve quickly. I’ve seen quite a few bands in this genre grow exponentially from one album to the next, and Ashen is a particularly strong example. Metallurgical Fire
